New Line of PEEK Compounds Offered

When long-term resistance to very high temperatures is crucial, Techmer Lehvoss Compounds (TLC) has just the ticket. It's an injection-molding compound based on PEEK/PES blend and reinforced with carbon fibers. Designated Luvocom® 2205-7123-VP, the dark-gray compound is also formulated with a PTFE lubricant modifier.

"Our latest PEEK-based blend is especially good for medical equipment applications," says Tom Drye, TLC's Director of Sales & Marketing in Clinton, Tennessee. "Parts for superheated-steam sterilization systems would be a prime example," he adds. This grade has added feature that it has passed cytotoxicity testing.

Beyond medical parts, there are many more applications where Luvocom® 2205-7123-VP offers exceptional performance. "This Luvocom® material would be ideal for most applications that require parts to maintain precise dimensional stability during prolonged periods of high-temperature exposure," says Mr. Drye. "It also offers superb resistance to chemicals and hydrolysis."
